Colors, scenes of Spring, in autumn’s dry dreary
A welcomed reminder, of days bright, cheery
Butterflies dancing, with affectionate flutter
Softly romancing, atop dry, frosty clutter
White as snow, light as feathers, whimsy in their glide
A soft word, whispered secret, they share side by side
Wild, pink flowers eavesdrop, basking in the pale sun
Lightsome, playful moments, of fantastical fun
Impatient grey clouds, blow rolling, alerting sighs
But nature pays no mind, to their petulant cries
Enchanted, beguiled, the butterflies prance and play
As the bed of wild flowers, to the wind gently sway
Alas, a shadow is cast by autumn’s cold hand
Sprinkles, misty droplets veil the peaceful land
Like wayward snowflakes, the butterflies swirl away
Stark reminder that for now, Autumn is here to stay
